Son of Cobra

Few cars capture the spirit of driving quite like the BMW 2002, and Son of Cobra has reinterpreted the icon for a new generation. Blending classic racing character with modern engineering, each build features a bespoke carbon fibre body, bringing the weight down to around 800kg. With power outputs ranging from 160bhp to 250bhp, the result is a power-to-weight ratio that rivals classic competition cars while delivering the refinement expected of a contemporary performance machine.

Engine options include a charismatic 2.3-litre carburetted M10, a fuel-injected version for added precision, or the legendary S14 from the E30 M3. Combined with carefully developed suspension and chassis tuning, the package offers sharp handling, immediate response and exceptional balance on both road and track.

Inside, heritage-inspired materials meet modern craftsmanship. Wool carpets, bespoke upholstery, lightweight carbon fibre trim and custom instrumentation create an environment that feels both authentic and purposeful.

Attention to detail defines every Son of Cobra build, from factory-correct BMW paint colours and OEM trim to forged wheels developed with motorsport-grade components. The result is not simply a restored 2002, but a thoughtfully engineered evolution of one of BMW’s greatest driver’s cars.
