Land Down Under

Porsche has turned its 911 Turbo S into a vivid celebration of Australia, marking 75 years of the marque Down Under with a one-off Sonderwunsch commission created with Sydney-based artist Werner Bronkhorst.

Inspired by the Australian outback at sunset, the car wears a hand-applied Chromaflair gradient that shifts from Terra Australis Red through desert orange and eucalyptus green to Southern Cross Blue. More than 300 hours went into the seven-layer finish, while the roof subtly conceals a ‘75’ and the rear wing reveals a playful ‘See ya later mate’ when it deploys.

The Australian story continues inside, with Dark Night Blue and Coolibah Brown leather, Silky Oak trim, topographical references to the Blue Mountains and a Southern Hemisphere constellation map depicting the night sky above Uluru in 1951, the year Porsche first arrived in Australia. Bronkhorst’s distinctive brushwork also appears throughout the cabin, including the intricately perforated seat centres, making this 911 as much a canvas for Australian landscape and culture as it is a celebration of Porsche craftsmanship.
