Ferrari’s 308 rally star reimagined

The Maturo 308 Stradale is a meticulous reimagining of Ferrari’s largely overlooked 308 GTB Group 4 rally car, engineered by Giuliano Michelotto in period and now reborn as a road-going machine. Back between 1978 and 1985, just 15 Michelotto-prepared 308s competed across Italian and European rally stages, racking up 30 wins before all-wheel drive rewrote the rulebook.

Starting with an original 308 GTB, each Stradale build is stripped to bare metal and reinforced with an integrated roll cage and over 150 structural welds. The stance is pure Group 4: widened arches, 15-inch wheels and Pirelli P7 Corsa tyres.

Power comes from a reworked 3.0-litre naturally aspirated Dino V8, lifted from around 250bhp to a far healthier 400bhp. It’s paired with a strengthened, short-ratio gated manual and limited-slip differential, keeping the experience resolutely analogue. TracTive adjustable dampers add a modern edge without diluting the car’s character. Inside, it’s purposeful but considered: carbon bucket seats and a period-flavoured, Abarth-style instrument cluster replaces the ageing plastics. Just ten will be built.
