Licence to Thrill
Ringbrothers have just dropped a bombshell at Monterey Car Week – their first ever Aston Martin build, and easily their wildest creation yet. This is OCTAVIA, a 1971 Aston Martin DBS that’s been stripped, re-engineered and reborn in full carbon fibre.
The Wisconsin-based custom legends poured over 12,000 hours into the project, blending American muscle with British sophistication. Under the skin sits a Ford Performance 5.0 litre V8 with a Harrop supercharger, good for 805bhp, and paired it with a six-speed manual gearbox. The track’s been widened, the wheelbase stretched, and it now rides on a custom chassis with Fox coilovers and Brembo brakes.
Visually, OCTAVIA keeps William Towns’ iconic silhouette but sharpens every curve. Finished in silver with olive green accents, it’s full of bespoke details – billet aluminium trim, 3D-printed stainless, carbon interior, pleated leather, even brass-machined door handles. There’s also a cheeky nod to Q-Branch: auto-dimming visors from Gentex, hidden cameras, and even a martini-glass dipstick.
