Spirit of the 70s
Porsche has unveiled the 911 Spirit 70, the third model in its limited-production Heritage Design series. This latest addition pays homage to the 1970s and early 1980s, blending cutting-edge performance technology with nostalgic design elements. Following the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition and the 911 Sport Classic, the 911 Spirit 70 is set to captivate car enthusiasts with its unique blend of past and present.
The 911 Spirit 70 is built on the foundation of the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet with rear-wheel drive, incorporating the latest high-performance powertrain and chassis technology from Porsche. This model boasts a high-voltage system, eTurbo, electric motor and a 3.6-litre flat-six engine, delivering an impressive total output of just over 530 bhp.
The aesthetic appeal of the 911 Spirit 70 is immediately evident. The car features Olive Neo, a rich green paint colour created exclusively for this model. Complementing the body colour are Sport Classic centre-locking wheels with accents in Bronzite, a gold-grey hue that enhances the overall look. A trio of decorative stripes runs parallel across the bonnet, adorned with elongated ‘911’ letters reminiscent of 1970s decals. These contrasting stripes extend to the cabriolet top. Like its predecessors, the 911 Spirit 70 features decorative side graphics with Porsche lettering and a Lollipop in satin black, complete with an individual start number, paying tribute to Porsche's motorsport heritage.
Continuing the theme of the previous Heritage Design models, the 911 Spirit 70 features unique fabric upholstery. The seat centres and various interior elements are finished in a black and Olive Neo Pasha pattern, reminiscent of a checkered flag in motion. Unlike the velour used in past Pasha interiors, the material here combines textile and flock yarn for a sporty feel and comfort during long journeys.
With only 1,500 examples available globally, the Spirit 70 masterfully blends modern performance with retro design, making it a must-have for car enthusiasts and collectors. This model is a testament to Porsche's commitment to celebrating its rich heritage while embracing the future.
