Lacoste x Alpine

French icons Lacoste and Alpine have joined forces for a collaboration that blurs the line between motorsport and fashion, centred around a striking one-off Alpine A290 Rallye.

Dubbed Beware of the Crocodile, the bespoke electric rally car takes the A290 Rallye as its starting point rather than treating it as a styling exercise. Developed by the design teams at both brands, it combines competition-ready hardware with Lacoste-inspired details, from a frosted Alpine white exterior to an interior drenched in the signature red of the crocodile's tongue. Look closely and you'll find 290 crocodiles hidden throughout the design.

The collaboration also extends to a capsule clothing collection, bringing together technical sportswear and classic Lacoste styling, alongside The Test – a short film starring actor Pierre Niney and Alpine F1 driver Pierre Gasly that captures the playful spirit of the partnership.

More than a simple co-branding exercise, the project celebrates the shared philosophy of René Lacoste and Alpine founder Jean Rédélé: that innovation, precision and lightness are the foundations of performance. It's an unexpected pairing, but one that feels distinctly French, where engineering and style meet without compromise.
