Low Res, High Impact

What happens when you take the Lamborghini Countach and remove everything that isn't essential? You get the United Nude Lo Res. Designed by Rem D. Koolhaas, the Lo Res is a radical, low-poly reinterpretation of Marcello Gandini's iconic wedge, stripping the Countach down to its most basic geometric form. Launched in 2015, its tinted polycarbonate body looks more like a piece of contemporary sculpture than a car.

But this one actually moves. Powered by a 5-kilowatt electric motor, the rear-wheel-drive Lo Res can reach around 30mph. Its electrically operated clamshell body opens to reveal a futuristic tandem cockpit for two, while the tinted panels create an almost alien-like bubble around its occupants.

Chassis 003 is believed to be the only fully completed example of the four reportedly built. It has also enjoyed a rather extraordinary life, appearing in music videos for artists including Kendrick Lamar, Nick Jonas, Marshmello and Travis Scott, as well as exhibitions at the Petersen Automotive Museum and the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Originally inspired by a Lamborghini, the Lo Res has become something else entirely. Part car, part sculpture, part pop-culture artefact.
