Porsche’s road-going hyper-racer

As Le Mans fever takes hold, Porsche has pulled the covers off something truly special: the 963 RSP – a one-off, road-going tribute that bridges the brand’s Hypercar present with its legendary past. Inspired by both the cutting-edge 963 racer and the iconic 917 famously driven on public roads in 1975, this road-legal marvel is a nod to Porsche’s rich design and motorsport legacy.

Named in honour of motorsport titan Roger Penske, the 963 RSP is based on the WEC and IMSA race-winning 963 prototype. But this version has been reimagined with a generous dose of nostalgia – referencing the silver 917 Count Rossi once driven from Zuffenhausen to Paris, a legendary moment for Porsche fans.

Created by a small team across Porsche AG, Porsche Penske Motorsport and Porsche Cars North America, the RSP features hand-finished Martini Silver paintwork. A luxurious tan leather and Alcantara interior, bespoke design cues and refined surfaces complete the transformation from race machine to rolling artwork.

It’s not just a static showpiece, either. The RSP has been subtly reworked for the road, with raised ride height, softened suspension, working lights and even French licence plates.. Inside, the raw race interior has been replaced with air-conditioned comfort, retrimmed details and 917-inspired finishes – right down to a 3D-printed cup holder and storage for Penske’s helmet and headset.
