Skoda’s homage to the 110 R

Skoda has dug into its heritage once again, this time reviving one of its most beloved models, the 1970s 110 R coupé, as a fully electric design study. Dreamt up by Skoda designer Richard Svec, the new 110 R isn’t a nostalgia-fest. Instead of copying the original, Svec has channelled its spirit into a sharp, modern reinterpretation built around clean surfacing, rear-wheel drive and an all-electric drivetrain.

The proportions are perfect: low, wide and poised. Motorsport cues are everywhere, flared arches, a visible roll cage, centre-lock wheels and bonnet ribs that nod to the legendary 130 RS rally car. Even the side air intakes return, now repurposed as battery cooling ducts.

Rather than retro gimmicks, Skoda has fitted digital mirrors, sliding headlight covers and its new Tech-loop lighting signature. A glowing Skoda badge sits in a smooth black front panel packed with sensors, matched by illuminated logos at the rear and even in the wheels.
