King of the Night

To celebrate the arrival of Rolls-Royce’s latest Black Badge edition, automotive photographer, Mark Riccioni, was invited by the luxury car brand to create a pictorial series of the Black Badge Cullinan among a variety automotive subcultures in Los Angeles, California. Following the assemble of these highly individual customised vehicles, Riccioni captured each encounter under the cover of darkness to great effect.

To assist with this project, the ‘Bespoke Collective’ of designers, engineers and craftspeople at Rolls-Royce created a unique ‘Recreation Module’ for Riccioni’s task. The unit was designed to incorporate equipment specific to his photography requirements. These include a drone, iPad and MacBook Pro for image capture and editing on location. Additionally, items such as Sennheiser headphones, Persol sunglasses, outerwear from streetwear brand Supreme and a water bottle were also added. The module was then trimmed in Forge Yellow leather to match the Black Badge Cullinan’s interior colourway.

A gallery of these images, titled ‘King of the Night’, will be on display at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Beverly Hills from March 2020.
